'The Biggest Loser' Season 10 Finale -- And the Winner Is
Well, it has been a long road on 'The Biggest Loser' (Tue., 9PM ET on NBC). But the season came to an end tonight. 4 contestants remained: Ada, Elizabeth, Frado and Patrick. But only one could take home the $250,000 grand prize.
"This is it," host Alison Sweeney said. "We're all down to this final weigh-in." And so, your winner of 'The Biggest Loser,' Season 10 was ...
... Patrick House! The 28-year-old father lost 181 pounds, a whopping 45.25 percent of his starting body weight. Confetti fell from the ceiling, as his family member in the audience embraced. Patrick started the show at four hundred pounds and he leaves weighing 219 -- and with a quarter of a million dollars lining his pockets. He beat out Alfrado "Frado" Dinten, who came in second after losing 162 pounds.
Ada Wong came in 3rd, losing 99 pounds. Elizabeth Ruiz lost 77 pounds and was eliminated by the viewers before the final weigh-in. Meanwhile, back at his house in New Jersey, bartender and recruiter Mark Pinkhasovich won the $100,000 stay-at-home price. Though he was eliminated just before the finale, Mark dropped 213 pounds -- over half of his original starting weight.
Patrick is currently a stay-at-home kind of guy himself. He's an unemployed former salesperson who lives in Vicksburg, Mississippi. "2010 was a rough year for me," he told Alison Sweeney. "Winning this gives me freedom." And Patrick may not be a stay-at-home dad for much longer. He's been offered a job at the Mindstream Academy in South Carolina, a school that specializes in helping overweight teens.
Congrats to Patrick, and congratulations to all the other players! 'The Biggest Loser' returns on Jan. 4, and the theme for the next season is "Couples."
