'Tea Parties' planned for Independence Day,
WASHINGTON - It's not all barbeques, fireworks, and beer cozies this Independence Day. Some people are choosing to spend their Fourth of July at "Tea Parties."
These parties are inspired by the Tax Day tea parties where participants call for things like lower taxes, less government and more freedom.
Most likely the biggest gathering will be seen at the March for Liberty, which will start at Upper Senate Park at the U.S. Capitol at 9:30 this morning.
Patrick Beck with March for Liberty expects at least 10-thousand people from across the country to be at the rally. He says there will be several speakers, none of which will be politicians.
A Prince William County tea party will be held at the McCoart Administrative Center in Woodbridge tomorrow starting at 1 p.m. The Annapolis Tea Party will take place on the Annapolis City Docks beginning at 11 a.m.
The first wave of tea parties across the U.S. took place this past April on Tax Day.
