montauk monster


A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog post about the montauk monster.The strange carcass of a bloated animal with a beak washed ashore on the beach at Montauk last year, and recently, another one was found.

Blogger drew grant recently wrote that he has solved the mystery. Or has he? According to him, an anonymous acquaintance of his was on a beach on Shelter Island, 15 miles from Montauk. He and some friends were partying on the beach when they found a dead raccoon. According to this story, they set it afloat on a child's inflatable duck, and set it on fire to give it a Viking funeral.

But what about the second Montauk monster that was found recently? And wouldn't a burning carcass eventually just sink and float to the bottom of the ocean?
